Fly Fishing

I learned to fly fish and tie flies from my Uncle Harry when I was in 8th grade.  He gave me an old bamboo fly rod, a tying vise, some furs, feathers, hooks, and a passion for this sport was born.

Lee Ann & Mike Ryan

Lee Ann, my wife, has been supportive of my fly fishing business and passion, and she loves to travel.

Together, we will be describing places we like to fish, tips we have learned during our travels, and hope that some of this information is helpful for you.

Colorado River Getting Net

WARNING! FLY FISHING IS ADDICTIVE!

You probably even know the symptoms!

  • Getting a warm feeling when recalling a strike indicator stopping in place, or better yet, moving back upstream,
  • Daydreaming of that gentle, tight looped cast where the fly settled quietly on the river, followed by an eruption of an eager trout grabbing that fly.
  • Obsessed with the thought of quietly wading a shallow flat, then sighting a tailing bonefish within casting distance.
  • The anticipation of planning a fly fishing trip to a new location, then having that travel day finally arrive.
  • Fishing all Four Seasons of the year with the anticipation of the scenery changing with each passing season.
